Walking for Charity

Rotary 2Here at Open Mind we get involved a quite a bit of charity and voluntary work throughout the year.

This Sunday 8th March we will be joining the annual charity walk around Eyebrook Reservoir organised by the Rotary Club of Uppingham.  As I write this there have been 100 walkers registered to do the walk and with a few more days to go, it is likely that more people will be joining us.

If your interested in joining us to do the walk , registration details can be found at  www.uppinghamrotary.org or you can simply arrive at the start in Stoke Dry between 10am and 12noon this coming Sunday.  Just follow the signs.  Children and well behaved dogs are welcome.

50% of the funds raised go to LOROS  with the remainder being divided among this year’s Rotary charities. For example the club has just purchased a further £2k defibrillator for installation in the Stockerston Road area of town and has helped build a children’s playground  in East Afric

Wish us all luck for our work on Sunday.
