Director Sandra Pollock said,
“It is a pleasure to be able to support such an amazing programme developed not only to showcase the skills of people across Leicestershire, but also to connect with other news and media passionate people across the globe.
We’ve chosen to sponsor the activities on the 25th November because I have personally been an advocate for improving the status of women in the UK and in other parts of the world for many years. In the UK we still have a long way to go when it comes to how we deal with violence against women and in recognising the importance of women and our contribution to society and the economy. We still do not have equality of pay or respect in the area of gender.
The Documentary Media Month (1st-30th November) presents events, activities and workshops covering 4 areas: film photography audio new media The 2015 theme is Global Citizens and will be dedicated to showcasing people, places and events around the world. The programme includes the 6th Leicester Docfilm Festival.
